What started as a small crew of hardworking groundsmen has grown into one of the region’s most trusted names in tree service. In fact, our current owner, Mike Bertell, began his journey here as a groundsman himself. Through years of dedication, learning, and leadership, Mike worked his way up, eventually purchasing the company and carrying forward the values that shaped it — hard work, honesty, and passing down knowledge to the next generation.

Today, A-1 Tree Service operates with a team of highly trained professionals, including certified arborists, equipped to handle everything from emergency tree removal to long-term tree care planning. We’re committed to safety, education, and staying up to date on the latest industry standards.

As part of our mission to give back, we also proudly offer our Community Kickback Program — a monthly initiative that provides free hazardous tree care to homeowners in need. It’s our way of supporting the people and places that have supported us for so many years.
